Daphne Desjarlais has lived, worked and raised a family in British Columbia her entire life. Raised in North Vancouver, she is the daughter of industrial education teacher, Robert Laidlaw.

Daphne attended Simon Fraser University where she earned her BA and then went to UBC, Sauder School of Business for her Mortgage Brokering education and license. She earned her AMP designation in 2010. Daphne moved out to the Fraser Valley to raise her family in 1991 and purchased her first home in Maple Ridge.

Now 20 years later she has gone through the purchase and sale of three homes, has bought, renovated and flipped a house and a condo; has built a house in the US. and has bought two investment condominiums (pre-solds) and still owns two houses in Alberta as rentals.

Daphne started her Mortgage Brokering career as a Construction and Residential Mortgage Specialist with Home Loans Canada (CIBC) and then switched to Dominion Lending Centers - The Mortgage Team.

Daphne served as a Director on the Fraser Valley Home Builder's Association; is a member of the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (CAAMP) and the Mortgage Brokers Association of BC (mbabc). She is actively involved in the Maple Ridge Chamber of Commerce and contributes to the Children's Hospital Foundation with each mortgage that funds.

Daphne periodically runs in charity events and is working on becoming a better runner so she can participate more in these events. She enjoys her leisure time scuba diving with her two teenagers; spending time with friends and family and walking her dog Allie in the parks and dikes of Maple Ridge.
